Redonkulous 1.1 is now live on the App Store! Here’s a summary of what’s new:

• Added Tilt Sensitivity slider, and increased the default sensitivity for tighter control.
• You can now turn on Old School mode to play with NO bosses and NO revives. Just you against the dots!
• Fixed some crashing issues for older devices.
• Records page now properly tracks your Code Red stats.

And we’re not stopping here… Stay tuned.

Before that “time off” thing we mentioned, we’re polishing up Redonkulous 1.1! Predictably, this update will focus on patching some bugs and improving the game’s performance on lower-end devices. Unfortunately the iPad 2, iPhone 4s, and 5th gen iPod Touch will remain the minimum requirements. Older devices just can’t seem to handle the game, even with the new effects disabled. Sorry, guys.

We’ve sifted through a few mountains of gameplay feedback since launch, and we’ve determined that you guys really, really liked the tilt sensitivity slider. So that’s making a triumphant return, along with a new feature we’re calling:

Old School Mode

Opinions have been split on some of the new additions, namely boss fights and the bonus target/revival mini-game. Our solution to that will be a toggle and a pair of new leaderboards. Turning on “Old School” removes boss fights and revives from Classic and Code Red, leaving you with sort of a Tilt to Live purist mode. Because that also reduces your scores, we’ll be adding separate leaderboards for Old School Classic and Old School Code Red. Now you’ll have two ways to play!

Think you’re getting pretty good at the new Tilt to Live? Then you should definitely check out the fan-sponsored Early Bird Tournament on our forums. The top three highscorers in Classic Mode and Code Red by December 15th will take home barrels upon barrels of glory, pride, and honor*. The first place winners get an extra barrel filled with admiration*.

*Emotions are subjective. Barrels are sold separately.

I’m not going to lie, we were pretty anxious about Tilt to Live 2. 2013 was on track to be our slowest year yet, and Tilt to Live felt like it might be old news. Did people still exist that knew what a Tilt to Live was, or had all our fans died of old age in the two year interim?

Launch day, you showed up to support us in a big way. We cracked the top 10 in games on the App Store for the first time ever, and reached #15 in top overall. The past few days of sales have been the best we’ve ever seen, which is obviously a fantastic shot in the arm for our company. We cannot thank you enough.

We’re going to take a few weeks off to restore our sanity, then jump into filling that “New Gametype” section with something tasty.

We’ve been working hard all year, and Tilt to Live 2: Redonkulous is finally available on the App Store! It’s a universal app, so if you have at least an iPad 2, iPhone 4S, iPod Touch (5th gen), or newer, just click the icon to grab a copy. If you’re on the fence, you should check out the trailer and see if it looks like your cup o’ tea.

We’ve also made the soundtrack available for streaming or purchase on Bandcamp, for those of you that like really strange swing music.

We’re still getting our ducks in a row for a Tilt to Live 2 release date, but we have collected all the excellent new music by REdVOLT Audio‘s Mike Reagan (Outwitters, Pudding Monsters, Angry Birds Star Wars) into a soundtrack for you to stream or purchase. Proceeds are split between the Feed the Composer Initiative and the Help Tilt to Live 2 Break Even Fund. My favorite track, personally, is Undercover Arrow.

Our fixes are slowly turning from game changing to nit-picky. The Code Red theme, our last bit of music, was delivered this week, and the soundtrack is being cut together as I type this. All things considered, we’re still really optimistic that we can land a release date sometime this month.
