The five minions we’ve shown off so far are just the tip of the iceburg. Two more will be added during Early Access for 7 total, giving you 21 different minion combinations for your teams on launch day! One of those Early Access minions is the sniper.

Our Outwitters players have probably been expecting a sniper to show up in Hex Gambit eventually, but can you believe he has two eyes?! You’ll find he plays a bit differently in Hex Gambit. Rather than a set range for his attack, this sniper shoots infinitely along straight paths, so he can hit you from clear across the map if he gets a good angle. The shots do less damage (relatively) than in Outwitters, but they’re very effective at picking off runners. He can also fire special “tapping” rounds that will snipe a Victory Point off your enemy’s crystal pillar from afar.

Hex Gambit is coming to Kickstarter July 25th! It’s a fantastic opportunity to save some money and improve the final game at the same time.   3. 21 different minions?! Does that mean that a sniper for one faction will be different than a sniper from a different faction?!

    Edit: wait you said combos!! I'm so confused.

  4. The first part of a match is equipping which minions you want to use for the match. You can equip five minions out of the current seven, giving you 21 different ways you can equip them. As they add more minions to the game, we get to choose from even more different combinations.

    I don't remember how many minions they'll have in the long run though. We could probably end up with thousands of possible combos.

  5. Hmm I must have missed this information somewhere. If it was sent out on the mailing list, I do not receive anything on the mailing list. I checked spam folders too. It is possible I missed it on a forum post somewhere or just plain forgot.

    Without doing the math, it seems like by just adding a couple more minions there could be a possibility of thousands of different combos. I just hope that they are all viable options. I could see there being a meta with a certain combo of minions that is extremely overpowered. Seems like every time the possibilities are endless, the viable possibilities are not.

    FF11 for example (last I played) had well over 10 different race choices. I think it might have been closer to 20. However, If you wanted to play late game and get invited to a group you really only had 3-4 choices.
