Release Dates: You’ve Been Burned Before

by

We’re back from GDC, and only I have escaped the clutches of the conference plague. The one where fluids burst forth uncontrollably from every orifice. That’s what I’m told, anyway. Alex and our sound designer Mike were less fortunate, so they’re both out of commission until the spewing ceases. Then I imagine they have mopping to do. I am the one man left ™.

Our GDC meetings went well, Outwitters got some hot news love, and I got to see a ton of really interesting lectures from people who make games better than me. Oh and the iPad 3 is a jerk, cause now I gotta make lots of stuff THAT I ALREADY MADE AND AM SO TOTALLY OVER bigger. We’re going to try updating TtL HD to retina first, and if these dusty old, unorganized, what-the-hell-was-I-thinking art files play nice, maybe we’ll release it.

You may notice in our news clips that we keep saying we’re about two months away from Outwitters’ release. We’re gonna try really hard to not be liars again. We have in fact read The Boy Who Cried Wolf and taken its lessons to heart. Trailer’s coming sometime soon.

    lol it took me a second to realize that “hot” “news” and “love” were different links XP

    Sounds Great guys! The game seems to be making really good progress! And then I read this “one of the game’s very polished three factions (the cute Adorables, the robotic Feedback, or the pirate-y Scallywags)” and I realized the plant people were gone…:(

    BUT YOU GUYS ARE STILL AWESOME! I look forward with great anticipation for the release!

    Get well soon Alex and Mike. 🙂 Looking forward to this game’s release a lot.

    @solan Wow. Didn’t realise that >.<

    @Leaf_it, they said some time ago they were launching with only those 3 races so they could get the game out on time.

    Yeah but I really liked the Plant People. Oh well. The game looks awesome regardless.

    As far as I know, teams are planned to be added after release. And as much as we’ve seen from the plant people, I would argue that they will be one of the first to be added.

    So excited for this game. One question though, any info on how the leagues will work? Will it be like SC2 where there is an even distribution between leagues? Like in SC2 there are 6 leagues divided by 2%:18%:20%:20%:20%:20% of the total active players. And then there is a 7th league for a set small number of top players. As far as I’m concerned, the close to SC2 ladder system the better =P You know that getting promoted actually means something because you’re in the next tier of active players. Also I know that this is all way in the future, but I think it would be prudent to reset leagues every so often to weed out inactive players in a league. Your hidden rating will still be valid though so when you play your first game of the ‘next season’ you can be placed back into your old league. The purpose of having a new season is simply to maintain the ratio of active players in each league.

    i agree with jaeson that the league system being like sc2 would be pretty good.

    So I guess that means you aren’t going to port Tilt to Live to Android. That’s a shame because I’d love to play it on my Transformer Prime.
