As of the time I started writing this sentence, the First Official Tilt to Live Tournament is full. Beyond full, actually, but I threw as many of you as I had in our inbox into the mix. All friend requests have been sent out through Game Center, so just accept yours and get practicing (your free soundtracks are on the way). On Saturday, August 27th, unleash hell!
When this clock says it’s 10PM on Tournament Day, I’m taking a screenshot of the best scores THAT DAY (not this week) and someone will officially be crowned the “Best Tilt to Live Player on Earth*”. You’ll have your work cut out for you against fierce competitors like “Toilet-Paper”. It won’t be the floor he’ll be wiping with you.

Woooooooooooo, I’m in! I’m gonna practise for at least two/three hours every day.
Can you confirm what time the tournament opens, with a GMT offset? Is it 00:00, GMT-5, or something else?
Oh, and will we get a list of all the scores, or just the top five?
And lastly, I don’t want to think about what you guys do with your toilet paper, but I’m pretty sure I wipe not-the-floor with mine.
Believe it’s GMT -4:00. Game Center MIGHT be counting scores as early as 10pm EST on the 26th (from testing it, I think it looks at the last 24 hrs, not the date).
All I’m saying is: winners are my Top 5 Friends for Today on August 27th at 10PM EST.
HOLY CRAP I HATE THIS GAME SOMETIMES!!!
I was dutifully practising for the tournament when I got WAY too far into it and beat my highscore by over six million. I scored 15,852,022 (worldwide 11th-best today), and got “1337 H4XoRZ 1337”, “Serpentine”, “Superhuman Pinball”, and a truckload more. WHY couldn’t I have saved it for Saturday?!?
@Adam ah yes, we have daylight saving over here too. I’m going to go burrowing around, see if I can figure out how GameCenter works. If I can start at 03:00 in the morning, I might well do it.

I have a humble proposition: us fans track each other’s scores right here on the day. Just comment on the latest blog post with each new highscore.
Alternatively, we could get a list of the competitors, and just use the GameCenter lists.

my high score(last week) is 25.7 million(i thought my friends sucked but wow, 15 million is 11th, i am good), and o i am so disappointed.i need the caffein blast mug, r entry limit going to expand.(what about play off for the finals:) )

But the perforated seems much more effective in SD than in HD. Is it because of the amount of dots? Or is the HD turret just worse for some reason?

I was doing the 40 hour famine when all this ‘best player’ stuff was announced, and I was giving up electrical entertainment devices, so the internet was out of reach. It was either fighting hunger in East Timor or discarding ‘the famine’ and Tilt to Living’. I chose East Timor, however, fasting from Tilt to Live was the hardest challenge in the existence of challenges, so, for 40 hours, I cried in my bedroom.

Hmmm…one day out from the comp. I only got 85 million today 😉
It’s kind of crazy thinking to myself that if I don’t get more than 50 million per game, its not good enough. To get to 180 million that was close to a 6000x combo! My hands were shaking! After a while you almost go Zen like and not even see the red dots anymore. Intact I’d almost say that I try to get them to follow me as much as possible so te combo keeps going. Also, turret is not your friend fr high score in code red. Infact play the whole game quite slow…always let there be heaps of red dots all the time. A good way to practice is with Frostbite. Those avoid the red dots there and you can easily avoid them in code red.
