Imagine my surprise when we noticed Tilt to Live is hovering around 30-40 in the Game Arcade/Action categories! The overall response has been amazingly positive! Special thanks to the community of iPhone gamers over at Touch Arcade for giving our game some early legs in the first hours of release! You guys have been great. Not to mention, all the reviews pouring in from the likes of:
- App Advice – “The game is extremely addictive, so this review comes with not just caution, or a warning but a full scale alert. Alert: You will be addicted.”
- Touch Arcade – “…it shows an attention to detail and knack for the inventive that escapes many games we see on the AppStore.”
- PocketGamer – “A title like Tilt to Live is as much a warning as it is a call to action.”
- Games Uncovered – “Tackling tough achievements earns you rewards; but playing Tilt to Live is a reward unto itself. We can’t put it down.”
- AppModo – “Tilt to Live takes addictiveness to a whole new level! It is probably one of the best pick up and play games on the appstore!
- The Tanooki – “Tilt to Live is a shining example of what arcade iPhone gameplay should be”
There are several other sites I don’t have in front of me at the moment, so blame my disorganized self :[. A HUGE thanks to all the editors, contributors, reviewers, and previewers that worked with us over the past several weeks, even months, to get the word out on Tilt to Live! Adam and I are both hoping this is sign of good things to come…
Now, I’ve gotta finish up some prototype builds before the night is done ;)…

Congratz!
I believe it’s safe to say that your first game has been a booming success (Still 5-Star average!) 🙂
Only a matter of time until Tilt To Live appears in the Top Ten.
As for me, I’m still addicted to the game and I don’t see my addiction letting up anytime soon 😛

Amazing game. At first I was like zomg €1,6?!&@#? but then it went away. I take some pills but they don’t seem to work as well as they used to. Anyhow, thanks for the child. Delivered fresh, Will Buy Again.
this is an amazing game, the way the accelerometer is utilized is amazing and easy to control. im so addicted to this game. i still dont understand what is meant by pocket points though.
Hey guys! Absolutely love this game! Well done on a great achievement!
Just wondering, what API framework did you use to make this game? Was it just good ol’ OpenGL ES or did you use something like cocos2d?
Thanks.
@Noah Thanks. It was good ol’ OpenGL ES, no game framework was used.
Just a little suggestion for Tilt to Live, how about some simple stats on the Game Over screen? The main one I wonder about is max combo (or is it chain?) cause I never check that out while playing*. Another is something like dot kills per second or something, just something else to compare my performance when I don’t get a new high score.
*One possible workaround to make them more visible is something like a tiny quick popup in the relevant area, kind of like Ikaruga’s chain notification (video here if you’ve never seen/played it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCkJuMt2TZU )
And here’s some more press…although I haven’t actually written anything on my site yet (hippotrouble.com) for it, but when I do it’ll have something like this: “I hate tilt controls, but I love Tilt to Live!”
…actually that reminds me of one other thing, a higher sensitivity option would be nice. The side to side tilt seems slow at times, although I’m guessing that’s more to do with accelerometer limitations in anything other than the top down setting. The upside down one felt a bit off in side to side movement too though.
are you KIDDING ME??? you need INTERNET for ACHIEVEMENTS????? OpenFeint is SO much better. And you called the achievement “tonight we dine in heck” not hell. WTF guys we arent kids….. and i bought at $1.99… wow.. hs=915,000 here.
Can someone tell me how to unlock the peace achievement?
To unlock the piece achievement you avoid killing any enemies for at least 50 seconds.

Guys, I really want to congratulate for this game, things looks as smooth as vector graphics, details are impressive, the interface is stunning and the loading screen texts are brilliant. Great gameplay and rhythm, the attack patterns are simply making this game incredible.
