Spawn a runner, boost if you want to keep it around, don't if you want to them to kill it with their runner, and move it to the hex below your heavy. 2. Spawn a soldier, boost it, move it to the hex between the wood posts. If you chose to spawn a runner you would have seen their boosted runner center field and probably wouldn't move it to your heavy, but did something else to react to your new knowledge. Either way you were probably going to lose your sniper. No biggy, doesn't mean you lose the game. The Gruff Billies Clan:

RE: Need advice? - Post your replay!
I recently played Harti! in the winter World Cup and probably played my best game ever and lost (well it was my first competitive ST match)
Any thoughts on what I could have done different http://osn.codepenguin.com/replays/view/...20Yme3TAgw |

You did fine most of the game, even with the early sniper mistake. You seemed to move your medics around a lot, you might be able to cut down on some movement to bank wits. The Gruff Billies Clan:

Could I have converted on my initial attack, or should I just not have attacked so soon? |

In that sense you either should have held off your attack until you could reinforce it, or regrouped when it was apparent that it was going to fail instead of pressing on and sacrificing two soldiers just to get the base to 1 HP with no backup. (blocks ttheir vision, he would not have seen you spawn the sniper) or seeing as you decided to attack his 2hp runner and medic, you could have spawned a runner instead cause you had a soldier in range of his spawn which would tempt him to spawn a sniper which you could kill with a runner cause his medic is already dead. overall, i dont think you did pretty bad. its just that the little choices you made had a very big impact. i think a longer game would be better if you want to get more tips in improving your game. hope this helped. |
