Suppose P1 and P2 each start with 3 units. P1 creates a unit, now it has 4, and P2 has 3. Then P2 takes its turn, and it also has 4 units. So it goes:

3/3, 4/3, 4/4, 5/4, 5/5, 6/5, etc.

The differential being:

0, +1, 0, +1, 0, etc.

The average advantage is .5.
