RE: Lose vs Give Up
In Basketball or Hockey or whatever, the physical actions you take in playing the game are part of the reason you play. Just because you are going to lose eventually doesn't mean that still trying your best at the game is a waste of time or not fun or no longer good exercise or something.
However, in Outwitters, often at the end of a game where you really have no hope of winning, trying your best basically means going through the motions of playing a hopeless turn and hitting Done. If your opponent is going to win on the next turn and you can't stop them, does it really make any difference in terms of the game itself if you give up? You both know what the winner would have done if you didn't hit give up, so it's not so much giving up as it is saying, "Nice job, you got me that time!" Resigning in Chess is considered a normal thing and not rude. Same idea. |
