Season time
Recently started playing and I'm number one in my fluffy
 league was wandering how long it takes until I get bumped up and how long does the seasons usually last?

You get bumped up to the next league when you start playing players of the next league. That is usually the good indicator when you are about to be promoted. Being #1 in your division doesn't necessarily mean that you are going to be promoted.
Seasons currently don't have a set operating time. Honestly, it depends on when A&A decides to add another season. I am sure a new season will start before the end of the year. (Probably when they release TTL2.) GC: TheGreatAnt |

This might seem like a stupid question but what exactly do seasons do? What impact does it have on the leagues and rankings?

Your hidden rank remains the same, your league points are reset to 0 and thus your league ranking is reset. Your first game finished in the new season acts as your placement game and in all but a few "edge" cases you will be placed in the division (Fluffy, Clever etc.) you ended the previous season in.

Seasons just provide you with a "tombstone" on which your historic rankings are frozen forever.
