Outwitters League System
Are all players distributed evenly over all leagues? Are there certain requirements for promotion, or is everything relative? (80th percentile of players = top tier)

It's not designed to be an even distribution. So the group of top tier players will be a much smaller group, and the one under that slightly larger, and so on. To get promoted, you simply must win the vast majority of your recent games to where the league system will decide that the league you are in is 'too easy' for your skill level. If you're doing ok-ish in your league, the system won't promote you, and you compete amongst your peers for ladder rank.

Pretty cool! Thanks Alex.

Another quick question: does inactivity demote you into lower leagues?

No, inactivity won't demote you directly. But if you have 20 games in progress and go inactive, those games will end in losses for you and you run the risk of getting demoted.

RE: Outwitters League System
will the people who start playing earlier get into the higher leagues first? kinda seems unfair if the first few people who play a game suck but get into the higher leagues then the people who are good at it get into the lower leagues because they start later... is there some sort of placement match system? Tongue also what time will the app release? i wanna buy it asap

Time isn't really a factor in placing you in leagues. If you win and do well, you'll get the league you're supposed to be in. Yes there are placement matches before putting you into a league. The app releases midnight (morning of July 5th).

RE: Outwitters League System
The ranking system has to start at some point without any prior knowledge of players and their skill. The first few days or weeks may be a bit wild regarding League placement but over time, the system will get a better picture and placement matches will yield better estimates.
