How do I change my avatar?

I choose the file for the pic that's going to be my avatar and put in the URL, but when I click "change avatar" It doesn't work Help!

I don't see it. It's a box with an "x" in the top left corner.

Yeah, the avatar won't show up. I don't know what it looks like.

You have to right click image, copy image URL, and then go to the page it directs you to. Then his avatar magically turns into a Ditto.

You can't have an avatar if you're a "newbie". You need to level up to an "active member" to unlock avatars.
