Okay lotta questions and i'm hammered but:

yes points are still needed since rank itself is almost useless depending on when you placed into your league

seeding is made so all groups are equal in "difficulty". like doodat says, you can see how the matchups will go in my post, based on your seed in the tournament.

as much fun as it would be to see poweewee and ler4t eliminate each other immediately, the point of seeding is to have the higher skilled matches closer to the finals. if games went exactly as seeded (meaning seed 1 always beats everyyone, seed 8 beats everyone seed 9 and less, etc) the finals will be seed 1 vs 2, semi finals seed 1vs4 and 2vs3, etc. this is generally how tournaments are made to make for more exciting matches. it would be no fun to see poweewee vs me in the finals and watch me get creamed 0-5 just because i had an "easier" route to the finals
