Groups Tourney - Postponed

Now that the clans tourney is coming to an end, I want to say I enjoyed the clan vs clan games more than I have enjoyed Outwitters in a long time. This tourney will not start before the clan one ends. A likely start date would be late January 2014.

We won't need new forums because all communication will be through iMessage. We tried it and it's great! The game format is way less demanding than regular games, so don't hesitate to sign up. It's gonna be fun to team up with new people, see how top players think, and learn new strategies. You won't need to log in the forums to see progress and there will be a host for each team so timeouts are unlikely in case you are super busy. No team will depend on a single player. If you don't want to share your iMessage email for privacy, you can add a new email to iMessage just for the tourney.

Aiming for 5 teams. Number of members in each team will depend on the signups.

I will not let a team be composed entirely of super players. I will ask for everyone's preference and try to match players from variable levels & make equally strong teams.

First round: Each team will play 4 games.
Each game with a different race, no race repeats. The maps are chosen by me but every team is free to choose whatever race they want. 2 games as p1 & 2 games as p2.

Second round (final): 2 teams will make it to the final, it will be best of three games.

After the signups close, I'll PM each player and ask them to name the players they want to be teamed up with and whether they want to be a captain or not. Then choose reliable captains from those who opted in. Then I'll make sure each team has reliable players and equal skill levels.

Just based upon how we've been handling our turns, the forums have been really helpful in keeping things organized. Everything posted all together in a text message makes it harder to keep track of what's going on I'd think.

imessage is okay too. its waaaaaaaaaaaay more easy to communicate plus it gets the message through faster. our activity in the imessage on a single meeting game is more than all our clans activity in the secret forum from the day it was created.
I dont think we are having problems keeping track of whats happening. everyone participating on our side can recreate our meeting game(playing both sides) to the dot.

1st. it gets the message through faster.
2nd. its easier to post screenshots
3rd. it sends the message to the device itself. you dont have to wait for the person to login the forum.
