So as you all saw, the tourney restarted. You can either clean up all your posts and do like it was the first time the championship began, or simply go on talking about your new games and keeping your old ame list to put the new replays.

RE: The Soon To Be Elite Tournament - Season 1 - Discussion Thread
Ok, i saw that the tourney restarted. But, I have a "practice round" result I'd like some advice on.
http://osn.codepenguin.com/replays/view/...CAoK-pvwkM Here I lose to Sidioud on Long Nine, FB v FB. I actually think I played fairly well, defending his attack he starts on Rd 10, and by turn 19 had repulsed him and we were both regrouping. I think I may have had the advantage at that point, but then in turn 21, i kind of blew it. Looking at the replay, I'm actually less convinced I did have an advantage, and we were probably pretty even. Assuming I still commit the heavy in turn 21 to killing his runner and discovering the scrambler, is there something different I could have / should have done to achieve a better outcome, or was moving the heavy forward without sight the first sin from which there just wasn't going to be a good recovery? http://osn.codepenguin.com/replays/view/...CAoK-pvwkM |

You had a decent advantage, however, attacking feedback is always dangerous. You split your attack then put your heavy in a dangerous position after you saw the scrambler. Basically, you lost too many units to the scrambler.

Thanks for posting that one. Interesting game. I wonder if you just focused on top if you might have overwhelmed him.

RE: The Soon To Be Elite Tournament - Season 1 - Discussion Thread
Yeah, the problem was I didn't want to lose the heavy (maybe that is more of a mental problem at that point) since it was in position to hit his base. So the attack above was launched to draw his scrambler up since it was more of a threat than the solo heavy. Or so my thinking went. Possibly this could've worked if I had two runners within striking distance the turn after my heavy attacked. But I didn't.
