Trying to revive an old thread here. Smile

So I came across this scenario in one of my games against thrutchy in the semifinals of the World Cup. I'm blue, he is red, and it is red's turn. I've forgotten how many wits each side has, but let us assume that red has 7 wits to work with, and that blue will have 7 next turn. There are no other units on the map (maybe the red medic downstairs, but it is irrelevant).

What is the best move for red?

Soldier in front of sniper move up one hex - 6 wits
Sniper move up, shoot heavy - 4 wits
Runner move between moved soldier and heavy, kill heavy - 3 wits
Bottom red soldier move and kill sniper - 2 wits
Spawn runner and move to where left most red soldier used to be - 0 wits

Doowhat? Doodat? Okey:3

I guess alvendor never found his really old game.
my move on powee's puzzle would be move both soldiers to kill the farthest blue soldier from the spawn. then kill soldier next to it with sniper and runner.

Ok, soldier in front of sniper attacks the heavy and the sniper finishes it off. Soldier attacks the sniper. Runner steps on the top wit space, spawn new runner and move up to sniper.

Should be a bunch of bad options for blue

Opening up my old wounds? I could have been in that position had i spawned a runner in the previous turn. Here is the actual turn and I had 8 wits.

I shouldn't have lost that game. I had to make multiple mistakes to lose and somehow I did. I have no idea what I was thinking with all that excessive medic and sniper movement.

The most solid move so far! Could blue possibly defend against this?

Blue might survive. Heavy moves and hits the lower 4HP soldier, spawn a new soldier and finish of the 1HP soldier. THen sniper moves in to kill red's sniper.

Looks pretty good too, but what about spawning a soldier to move and kill the 4HP soldier (the one that killed blue's sniper), and then the other soldier moves to kill red's sniper. Blue might survive this?

Yup, this was what I had in mind back then. I thought I was at a really deep hole. LOL

I'm not really sure. But at that time, I figured that if this was the position of his units, then I was probably in a lot of trouble. Smile Your move is one of the most solid I've seen so far.
