Here's a very close game on Foundry:

It appears to me that on Foundry you have to send out some units to attack, even if you're under heavy pressure on your side of the map. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't - but almost always it's a close call.

I held it in too long... I feel like I have to boast not because my opponent was a good player rather because I tend to SUCK on this map. I find it difficult to believe this person is number #4 in Bright Racoon gifted league when I beat him.

being high up on the leaderboards doesnt necessarily mean the player is good. it just shows their activity.

Winning more often does allow for more points tho, especially when at gifted, you still lose around 12 points per loss.

Hm... well maybe he sucked on long nine more then me. He seemed to try to defend it his base.
