Not to intentionally plug, but Touch Arcade does a good job of keeping up with new ios games, and alerting you to (possibly) must have freebies.

& they even have an app.

Junk Jack!

It's kinda like Minecraft had a baby with terraria, but with super cute 32 bit graphics. It's a super in depth game and its amazing

I have that game. When i first played, i dug down two spaces but Junk Jack could jump high enough and i got stuck in there not knowing what to do. I tried to dig a tunnel out but i couldn't get out and slimes came and i didn't know how to kill it and it got annoying so i quit and deleted the map, turned on peaceful mode, and i never turned it off since. But a made a big home for myself and a nice big farm.
