Some people are 70's for a long time, because they don't play often but only win. Like King Cupcakes: I remember saying to myself "What? Top 80? He has 100 points.." and now he is ST. So I guess he barely lost, but barely played too. ^^

i dont think its surprising to see masters ranked higher than some STs. if you look in the list, STs that have masters ranked higher than them have either just been promoted recently or have been above the top 60 at some point. there are STs with zero points because when they won their first game in the 2nd season, they were placed back or in the super titan league.(porbably was on the verge of getting promoted to ST or was already an ST in season 1) i dont think you can get demoted through inactivity so they stayed there without playing anymore games

the highest ranked master is actually _trip at #62 followed by thrutchy at #64.. according to osn anyway

All I'm saying is if you're ranked lower than masters players, have few or zero points and/or are inactive, that should be an easy demotion.

so STs at the borderline will get demoted with a loss or two? i dont think thats fair.
i also dont think its fair for people who arent very active to get demoted..
dont worry about the STs with zero points. i think thats the purpose of seasons. to clear out the inactive players

It's not fixed. I got to rank 44 and was still Masters at one point when there were around 88 Super-Titans.

Alex confirmed the following idea to be "more or less true". So I'm sure there is more to it, but the general premise seems to be sound.

Say the range for Master is 500-1200 hidden-rating. Then, to get promoted to ST from Master you need to exceed 1200 hidden-rating. However, to get demoted to Master from ST you need to dip to 800 hidden-rating. This prevents a player who just got promoted to ST at 1203 points from being immediately demoted after losing 1 game and going to 1195 (and then being promoted again after a win... and so on).

In this case, there could be many Masters AND Super-Titans in the 800-1200 range. The Super-Titans aren't low enough to be demoted (<800), but the Masters aren't high enough yet to be promoted (>1200). So instead you have some Masters who are ranked higher than Super-Titans but who have yet to be promoted.

In my case I guess that many Super-Titans had fallen enough in hidden-rating such that I was able to approach the promotion threshold and pass many Super-Titans without having reached it.
