The problem with 2v2 random
I guess all of us who tried 2v2 with random partners have had special experiences. In general I like the idea to get a random partner assigned. The problem however is that the matchups then are often against chosen pairs. It is always an uphill battlw playing with an unknown partner against a team which knows each other.
In my opinion 2v2 random matchups should be made only against players who also selected to play a 2v2 random partner game. awesome signature design by .Memories. |

RE: The problem with 2v2 random
Yeah, I agree. If I have to make an estimation of my w/l rate against randoms vs. fixed pairs:
Against randoms: ~65% win rate (against Gifted) Against fixed pairs: ~30%, usually due to miscommunications. |

RE: The problem with 2v2 random
This is also a problem when it would come to a top 200 ranking for 2vs2; because of 2vs2 players all being lumped together in order for them to all be put into the same database they require for a partner's profile to be inserted: For premade teams this is simply the profile of their said partner, but for a random 2vs2 player a partner profile 'randomplayer' is created in order to have a comparable rank to premade 2vs2 players. This profile would have to be lumped together with the real player which would probably cause problems in a top 200 list or maybe additional time consuming editing. That's my best guess anyway, I'm only speculating.
Top 200 peak ranking: #18 I'm currently taking a competative break. Am up for friendlies and tournaments! (06-09-2014 02:14 PM)Bbobb555 Wrote: I looked it up, apparently a kendama is a yo-yo (!). How the heck do you have forums for yo-yos? |

RE: The problem with 2v2 random
I personally feel that 2v2 randoms should occasionally assign a higher ranked partner. In my experience with random partners, a lot time out or just forfeit on maps they don't like, pushing your ranking down, and thus causing you to receive even more lower ranked players who in turn do the same thing.

RE: The problem with 2v2 random
I've just started a random 2v2 game where my partner ( ONEobesePOPTART )on their first turn blocked my 2 spawn spaces! I get the feeling I'll be a fluffy random 2v2 player for a while yet

They have made their 2nd turn and freed up ONE of my spawn spaces. I am continuing the game for its comedy value. They have been playing since season 1 and have 22 wins to their credit Everything Changes |

We still won that game even though my base had 1 hp left an my partner's base had 2. I hear there's a secret Mobi hidden here somewhere… |
