How do tournaments work? I don't know if i should enter.

It depends on the tournament, but the general idea is you play matches to move further up the ladder, kicking others out of the tournament, until you are left with two players, who play for the first place position.

It's supposed to be similar to this tournament, so you can look to that link for more details.

Basically, you play a number of games against several opponents to determine who is the best player. In this tournament, everyone will play a number of games, after which a certain number of players will advance to the knockout rounds, where you are eliminated if you lose a match. We keep playing until only one person remains, and they are the winner. I would suggest trying it, tournaments are a lot of fun!
