RE: YOU Can Help Bring Outwitters Back!
The largest issue is probably the assets, i.e. sound and graphics.

I am likely overlooking some nasty algorithms required for matchmaking or server-side anti-hacking checks, but I really do think it's all in all fairly doable. If e.g. Chemomeum (or somebody else) made his sketches come to (virtual) life with Adobe Illustrator and we found some sound guy, we'd be able to pull it off.
Hand me animation sprites for two teams to begin with, and I'll try finding time to write a firm and expandable code base. Could team up with CodePenguin as well. Smile

This does need to be done in teamwork since it's not feasible otherwise. I'd have Illustrator skills in theory, but it'll be too time-consuming to do that as well.

In the meantime, the others can think of new balancing concepts, game modes and special abilities. I believe we had a couple of threads like that already, but as far as these are concerned they didn't seem to be too balanced.

So... how about it? Smile

I'm down to help with however I can. I've also got some art skills though never shared them on here. That and just a strong desire to see something like this happen. At one point I considered creating a game board of outwitters a with the new teams but scratched the idea since there wasn't a good way to implement the FOW. Plus no one to play it with. Wink

I mean, if this is happening, I could do some conceptual things, team/ability ideas, maps, modes, etc.

I know kendama isn't a yo-yo, but how cool would it be to have a special that used a yo-yo as a weapon? I use to play a game where you could play a class called the 'jester' that used a yo-yo.

That sounds suspiciously like the old Domino's game about their Noid mascot. Yo! Noid I think it was called. But he wasn't a jester.

Anyway, I wonder how a yo-yo would differ from a regular ranged shot. What sorts of mechanics would it have?

RE: YOU Can Help Bring Outwitters Back!
It would do damage in a line, there and back. So, 1 damage to each space for 4 spaces, then 1 damage to each coming back. Movement of 3.
