I think this is a valid concern for some people, although I personally don't think it's a big deal.

There are some things you can do if you are really concerned about this.

1. You can do pass and play games instead of friendlies
2. You can create an alternate GCID for your super secret strategy development

The Friendly game has been a very convenient way to prepare for important games like placement games (you lose one of those, kiss any promotion dreams you had goodbye). Unfortunately, I don't see any of your suggestions saving it.

1. Pass and play--can't do that with your partner several miles away.
2. Alternate GCID--slightly better, but ultimately not airtight. If you can sort by board, by recent games, you can probably find signs of people trying to test out strategies, and then check whether the moves they're making match your game. Or just start poking around in recent games on that board for ideas and you could stumble across your very game. Point is, you might be able to ameliorate the problem but you can't solve it.

When you get to Turn 13, sending Friendlies back and forth to test strategies gets old fast, so I've been considering alternatives anyway. But I wish the Friendlies option were still available. (In many games, if you're very careful and consider each move, the decisive battle is often over well before that point.)
