I wouldn't be too baffled. ArtNJ is on the beta team and we've got a slightly different Outwitters app build than you guys do. We've got some sort of switch to switch connection from beta to live server and vice versa. It could well be the beta build/server are somewhat playing a role there and have the game bug out.
As it seems he also created a second account to better distinguish what he's doing, right? I can't explain it with the currently stated information but I'd simply not pay much attention to it.
