It's very interesting to see how subjective the efficiency of a trade can be. I personnaly think that, in this case, killing the medic was really unefficient, because as trutchy said alvendor didn't even plan to use it, and it provoked the thought process I described in my commentary. But sharugames couldn't know it, so, we can't say it's an error from him. ^^
