Demoted for winning a game?

If it counts recent wins and losses as a ratio, wouldn't it demote on a loss then?
for example...
Let's say it counts last 10 games and dropping below a 1:1 ratio demotes you...
I have 5 wins and 5 losses. Then I win a game.
Now I have 6 wins and 4 losses.
That is how a ratio would work with recent games (or all games for that matter).
Demoting a win and promoting a loss just doesn't make sense.
