$10 seems to have worked for Carcassone. Obviously that game has a loyal following, but I was willing to drop 10 on it without having ever heard of the game purely based on the glowing reviews. I think it would have worked. I've tried to tell so many friends to download outwitters and most of them don't bother. On christmas I would have gifted it to all my closest friends and family, but unfortunately that isn't an option with free to play games.
