How do points work?

Unfortunately everyone plays outwitters at different rates, some playing a ton of games at once and others finishing a game once a week (or even slower). Ultimately this means that contrary to the stated goal, points don't tell you anything about relative skill within a league because there is no indication of how much players have played since the point system change. I thought the old system was better where a good player was still able to make it to the top from skill even if s/he didn't play as much as a worse but extremely active player. Oh well... If you're in the top 200 it shouldn't matter anyway because you have the true skill leaderboards once a week, but if you are not in the top 200 you really have no way to gauge your progress in league (unless you are mostly play people in the league above or below).
