Hm, yeah the idea is to allow people to jump in and play one or a couple of quick games when they get the urge. If the king of the hill only accepts challenges when he got time to spare (say an hour) all games should at least get a decent start.

To make it simple:
If one game is finished and the second game has more turns, it is not needed to finish the second game (unless you want to of course).

If one player can't continue, the other player has two options:
1. Win automatically
2. Agree on a time within 24hours when the game can continue.

Also, the king of the hill can resign his title at any time, as nobody should be forced to be available every day unless they want to.
