Reducing Time Limit for Turns

RE: Reducing Time Limit for Turns
Adam/Alex

First you stated that the limit is 4 days? I have never had a game time out after 96 hours without a turn by an opponent. It is always 6 days. Are you sure that 4 days is right? Of course you are the great and powerful OML's, but I have been keeping track, and it is still 6 days. Waaaayyyy too long. 2 days is fantastic. 4 would be redonkulous, if it worked.

RE: Reducing Time Limit for Turns
Alex and Adam, here is what some people and I, at least, think would be the very best:

Reducing the time limit sounds good to most people, but not all. And this improvement wouldn't be enough to be really attractive.
I have absolutely zero knowledge as for programming, but if it isn't too much work, what do you think of implementing two game modes? The original one, async, with a strict 4 days limit. And another, which would be a quick game mode, where you don't leave the game between the turns.

If you can do it, imagine the success: you do an update on the app store, which is a good moment to ask for a showcase to Apple, and here you claim that a new mode appeared, and that people won't have to wait anymore to play if they don't want to.

It's been discussed on another topic opened by boyxoneder, here: http://www.onemanleft.com/forums/showthr...p?tid=2894

RE: Reducing Time Limit for Turns
First news that time out has indeed been fixed to 4 days came to me just minutes ago. My dear 2v2 opponent, who does turns when notification reminds him, just posted that reminders come now "early" and he indeed made the move in 3 days!
Normally it says 5 days ago with him. None of our matches have ever time outed, but I always wish they should have (because of the rules). This has to be one reason why many here wish shorter time out schedule. It bugs to wait the turn, since by rules opponent should have lost by now.

I am optimistic that this real 4 days limit will make matches faster. And reducing the time limit won't do us any good, it still be slow! Real problem seems to be that heavy users can't play enough.

Those who had slots full: option to purchase 50 or 100 match package.

A real time mode would be really amazing.
But it's going to be a lot more effort than changing a "4" to a "2" somewhere ;].
I voted for 2 days myself.

I actually have a game at 4 days right now. Will the fix only work for games started after this point?

Trust me, having 100 games at a time isn't humanly possible. Rolleyes

Notification comes a day early. You can ignore it. But I am not expert, since I had never received one ;-)
Still voting for 4 day time out limit.

When the 4 day time limit was working, there was a set time during the day when all the games at 4 days or greater would be forfeited, so it wasn't exactly a hard limit of 4 days. I'm wondering if it went back to something like this.

RE: Reducing Time Limit for Turns
Hmm I feel that maybe the league matches can be limited to 3 days while the friendly matches can be kept the same - 4 days.
