The Elite Championship - Season 3 (Started!)

Hello everyone, and welcome to the Under the Influence Tournament, where the only rule is that you can't be sober during any of your turns!
Just kidding.

Actually, 22swarm and Flarp55 are proud to carry on Mag!cGuy's legacy with the third installment of:

THE ELITE CHAMPIONSHIP

The first two were arguably the two most entertaining and high level tournaments in Outwitters history, and we hope this one can be the same, especially with lots turnover at the top since Season 2.


All map and race packs are required to participate.

The Format:

The format will be similar to last time, a round robin with each player playing each other player exactly once. Maps and match ups will be selected randomly. Ties will be broken by a playoff. You can not use any race more than four times.

Time outs will be enforced by the in-game system. All games must be started by November 1. As long as you meet this deadline, you can play your games in any order or frequency you desire. Replays should be reported to this thread by the winner of each game.

To keep things fresh, I am also instituting a side competition to supplement the main event: The Subjective Cup. I will undertake the arduous task of watching every replay submitted in this tournament. I will then rank the replays based on how exciting/impressive/unique/elegant they are. The player whose replays obtain the best average ranking will be crowned the subjective champion.

The player on top for each matchup is P1, with one exception:
For round 8, any player that was P1 for round 1 is now P2, and any players that was P2 for round 1 is now P1.

I know that in the past, Mag!cGuy went and actually recruited players. A lot of players in the top 10ish don't come onto the forums, but will bestir themselves for a prestigious tournament like this one.

Highest I've managed is Rank 17 (not counting the early rankings list) so I'm out.

Question/Opinion: Will there be a STB Elite Tournament #2 running alongside this one? I think there should be, the first one went well, and I like that random players can get into the Elite tournament (ala jesusfuentesh in #2, and now Doodat in #3). I'm not saying that either of you have to run it, with this one on your plate, but it would be cool if somebody did.

You may want to get Alex to promote the tourney if you're looking for an easy way to reach the "Elites".

Sorry you were so close to the cut! Maybe we will eventually loosen it if we want more signups. Individual recruiting sounds like a good idea, as does another STBE. I wouldnt want to run it myself since I already have this, but maybe I could handle everything for this one and Flarp could handle the STBE.
