RE: Gardening to the top.
Thank you guys!
Here is the first replay, a friendly Of course my opponent doesn't know how to play ( ) but it shows well a bramble can be powerful. Skip aall the last series of turns, you'll see the main point: getting back in the gamr against a really set up bramble is very tough. outwitters://viewgame?id=ag5vdXR3aXR0ZXJzZ2FtZXIRCxIIR2FtZVJvb20YytztAww Bramble has another obvious advantage I just noticed: unit count. Bramble can kill an unit, so, reduce opponent's wit count, without the player has to use a real unit. It just works as mobi, with which you can kill a runner and call your own back: your opponent loses an unit, you don't. That's crucial on one spawn maps. What I need to work the most now is: protecting the parent thorn as much as possible, and particulary not putting it on a hex which is important for other units. Here, at the end, my sniper was blocked cuz, if I killed the thorn which blocked him, aaal thorns on the map would be dead. I also need to improve wit efficientness, creating as few thorns as possible but which block opponent as much as possible. I think that still creating one unit per turn and then spread thorns is the best to do, which I absolutely didn't do here, spamming thorns all over the map. ^^ You can ask a... RE: Gardening to the top.
Yup, Mag!c is right too, especially on Glitch, I wasn't able to kill the early bramble even though I had an advantage early and even a little mid game, but the rooted bramble hurt.

RE: Gardening to the top.
Bramble is useless if you go for a soldier wall against soldier wall game. So hey I just found out another tip : don't go veggie against terence. Well, actually, don't go anything, just give up and say gg.
But bramble in an active game where there are few units is actually very awesome, cuz his thorns can't be denied easily, and each thorn is an attacking unit which allows to take the lead over your opponent. You can ask a... (drawing by Chemoeum) |
