after reading this thread, am I right to make below statements?

To the casual game players, it is encouraging for them to play more and get more points in their level (no matter they are in fluffy, clever, gifted, and/or master)
To the true fighters, their aim to reach top 200 where is calculated by hidden rate (player skill)

Sounds like a condescending design decision to protect peoples "E-feelings"...

1. This game has friendly mode for casual play, perhaps this can use a meaningless point system based on making people feel good and giving everyone a gold star.

2. League play can be true ranking.

If you just have people playing friendlies and not getting better, then they'll lose interest because its no fun to play because you don't win. I casually play (bad according to Mag!c Tongue

) but I try. The point system is a bonus that you don't really notice but is an unconscious reward for many people.

Well, then how about they show the full hidden ranking on the forums? "Casual" players who actually like the point system probably don't surf the forums much...I would guess?

it would take time? there are thousands of players. i think them posting a 1v1, 2v2 and 2v2r weekly is already great considering the flop outwitters turned out to be.

Not that I'm not thankful for them to show the top 20, etc. That's very nice of them to spend time to do that.

But it shouldn't take any time for the developer once you automate the process with a script. It doesn't have to update frequently, maybe every few days.

yeah it wouldnt take time once the script is done. but it does takes time to make the script. and i think they also manually post those in the in-game news feed and the one in the forum.
