Clive is younger than everyone who likes to wear a hat.

Exactly two of the men like to wear a hat.

The youngest person and the person who earns the least do not wear a hat.

Bruce is older than everyone who earns more than Clive.

Ace is younger than everyone who earns less than Clive.

Dirk is older than everyone who doesn't wear a hat.

Dirk earns less than exactly one of the men who wear hats.

Dirk earns more than exactly one of the men who don't wear hats.

Bruce is not the oldest.

The oldest man makes less than Clive.

The man who earns the most wears a hat.

By the way, I made this list of clues up myself, so don't bother trying to Google for the solution.

are you sure this can be solved with just your clues?

clive - 60k - 30 y.o. - wears hat
dirk - 50k - 40 y.o. - no hat
bruce - 40k - 35 y.o. - wears hat
ace - 30k - 25 y.o. - no hat

I liked that the hat category only had two distinctions instead of four. That is unusual for this kind of puzzles. Also kudos for managing to make up a puzzle like that, that has only one unique solution!

That can't be correct. For example the first clue reads "Clive is younger than everyone who likes to wear a hat." So Clive can't wear a hat, since he's not younger than himself.

I was hoping it would take a little longer for someone to find the solution. I thought the whole "can't be younger than oneself" thing would be trickier for people to figure out.

Inspired by Erenan's Puzzle I decided to make one my own (although my background story isn't as well designed):
The monsters that escaped from Erenan's monster engineering labs hurried through a sports center, knocking over several people in their way. Four women seem to be especially shaken by the events and in their shock they forgot which course they wanted to attend, how old they are and which of the sport bags scattered around the ground is theirs. Can you help them?
Names: Eve, Fanny, Gina, Holly
Sport courses: Basket Ball, Tennis, Soccer, Climbing
Bag colours: Red, Blue, Green, Yellow
Ages: 22, 26, 30, 31

The youngest person is not playing soccer.
The soccer clothes are neither in the blue nor in the yellow bag.
Eve plays Tennis.
The woman going climbing is older than the one playing soccer.
Gina is not the oldest.
The person who is 26 years old does not own the green bag.
The person with the red bag is older than the person with the blue bag.
The owner of the yellow bag is 30 years old.
Gina does not have a blue bag.
Fanny is younger than Eve.
The oldest person is not playing Tennis.

Why you were wrong:

After you've worked out the clues the 'normal' way, the owner of the blue bag could be playing basketball or going climbing. However, the owner of the blue bag was Fanny, while the lady going climbing was Holly.
