Team America vs Team Eurasia - Currently underway

Greetings, United Citizens of Outwitters!

As a community of players, I think we are notably civil, friendly, and generally awesome. However, I intend to rip us down the middle, and set us at each others' throats! All in good fun, of course. I humbly present what can be called the battle of the ages, a historic event of epic proportions, a conflict that our posterity will hail for years to come:

Team America vs Team Eurasia

Dun dunn dunnnnnn..... As originally proposed in this thread, this will be a team match between two groups of many players from the Outwitters community. Each team will be given access to a private, password protected forum on which to deliberate strategy. One game (subject to change) will be played on a map of the majority of players' choice, as determined by the poll included at the top of this thread. The winning team will receive no prize other than the honor and glory afforded by defeating a team of their accomplished peers.

How to Sign Up

If you would like to participate, please reply to this thread and provide your native country. Using this, you will be assigned to either Team America or Team Eurasia. The regions are split in the following way:

Team America:
North America
South America

Team Eurasia:
Europe
Asia
Africa
Australia

Once the teams are set, I will send a private message to all players containing the password for access to their respective private forum.

Team Captains

Each team will have a team captain, or multiple captains if applicable. This is more of an administrative position, rather than a leadership position. The captain's responsibilities include hosting the team's game on their GC account and iOS device, providing screen shots of the game to teammates on the private forum, and generally being available to answer questions about the game. The captain should preferably have access to an iPad, so that screen shots capture the entirety of the game map. Captains can be decided here, in this thread, or later in your team's private forum if you want to discuss it there.

What about First Turn Advantage?

FTA may be assigned at random. Or, we may decide to do multiple games at once. This is subject to some discussion.

How Will We Suggest Turn Moves?

You may wonder how we will communicate specific turn movements on a confusing hexagon-based map. This is how: when we have decided on a map, I will provide an image of the map with coordinates overlayed on each hex to each team, so that communication is simple. For example, see this map (note: we will not be using a 2v2 map, this is just an example):
