We get points, but it doesn't feel as good since we didn't earn it through battle.

I don't want to be that guy, but I don't think it's fair that some teams might get points just because another team failed to play. However, it is important that they are offered the chance to earn those points. Maybe have them play a random team that's already involved, and only they can win points. Say my team was chosen randomly, and spacechef plays me. If he wins, great, +2 points (or whatever) for him. If he loses, no one gets points. Other teams might not want to play if it doesn't benefit them, but my team wouldn't mind

Yeah, but than you should have to cover every instance of forfeit by non-play for the entire tournament. It'd also make the tournament drag on for a much longer length of time. I'm sure there's also some mathematics about it, involving throwing the overall accumulation of points off. In the end, what we need is active players.

By next round I think we will lose a couple of teams. I don't want to give a forfeit for an entire four games so teams that are player 2 for round 1 you may start a match against player 1.

Teams that qualify to do this are Hit & Run, Victory Dolphins, the Average Joes, Cannonballs, Barn Lemons.

Yeah that would suck, but on the flip side how would you feel if you had to play a tougher opponent in place of a weaker opponent who for whatever reason decided to bail?
