I could see sending a chat message helping move the game along in some rare cases. For example, I don't always have time to make moves in all my games, and I usually open up the games with chat messages first.

But to Kiren's point, if the message said something like "hurry up!" it's possible I'd save that game for last . Other messages should be just as effective, like "You are so good looking" or "I've made a huge mistake."
