I think he meant P2/P4. I assume that he thought you were suggesting these units be moved, but didn't realize you could have also meant to move P1/P3 units.

Anyway, I agree with what Erenan said. It would be quite hard to get working; there are simpler solutions, I'm sure. But, different ideas are always good - thanks for thinking outside the box.

That is exactly what I meant. And thank you .Memories.

I guess I just don't entirely grasp how FTA works with regards to wit advantage.

Yeah, that's what I meant, so my bad...

I just misunderstood this bit thinking you meant to only move P2/P4 units...

It essentially comes down to the wit +/- for each team per turn.

Current Imbalance (stolen from Gf!sh's post)
Code:
Turn           1   2   3   4   5   6   7

T1 Total Wits  5   5  10  10  16  16  22
T2 Total Wits  0   5   5  10  10  16  16

T1 Advantage  +5   0  +5   0  +6   0  +6

As you can see, Team 1 always has a wit advantage over Team 2. This is what people want changed, mostly.

RE: 2v2 FTA Discussion - PhilAvery - 01-16-2014 06:24 AM

If you move both teams units, it would be exactly the same as it is now really, the first team would still have the wit advantage as the same starting positions=first team can move into a good position first.

Memories shows it perfectly above...

As team 1 always gets their wit given to them first, they can always move/create/attack first, which leaves team 2 crippled before they are given their wit to 'react' with. Maybe this is easier or harder to understand then the table. You decide...

If there is an FTA balance, it gives team 2 more wit, so although they are taking their turn later than team 1, they have more wit and can therefore be more prepared for team 1's 'unstoppable' attack.

This has been talked througly and none of the new comments bring anything feesible OML to implement.
Now that TTL2 is released, before android TTL2 and extra contend to TTL2...
Alex has some resources to address Outwitters issues. Small issues like changing starting wit values of 2v2 or turn time limit adjustments.
1v1 FTA was addressed way back, 2v2 FTA fix is long overdue, and fix is as simple as it was for 1v1.

(Counter comments for new ideas have been on the point, thx. But all of this has been talked already when we talked FTA during season 1.)

RE: 2v2 FTA Discussion - The Big Jalacktus - 01-16-2014 09:27 AM

Thank you for explaining. I think I got it mostly, but I have one more question: why wouldn't we give p4 2 extra wit to start off the game (5-6-5-7) considering they are at the highest disadvantage theoretically?

RE: 2v2 FTA Discussion - Juslas - 01-16-2014 04:26 PM

Goal is to reach wit balance -3 / +3 as soon as possible.
Correct unit is a team, not a single player. Also seasoned 2v2 players have had a poll about solution.
