2v2 = 2v1? - Fluffysox - 09-24-2012 07:02 PM

Hi,so I recently played and won a 2v2 game against a masters pair. I checked out their division, and I came across a team of similar named people.

They were called
Greatbero
Greatbero2

They are in little claw division for 2v2 division, 20th place.
I would post a pic, but I'm on iPad so idk how to upload. However you can post your email and I can send you the picture.

I'm not accusing anyone of cheating or anything, it just sounds dodgy. Also, is this even allowed?

why wouldnt it be? maybe they know each other like cousins, brothers, friends? you can invite people with a game center account in 2 vs 2. or are you meaning the automatch where you are partnered with a random person? then it could be possible that both of them started a 2vs2 match at the same time and ended up paired with each other?

I think fluffy is really talking about the idea that people can can create multiple accounts and play 2v2 with themselves, switching between the two; and wether this is okay or not. Clearly it's possible, I don't think there's a way to stop it, but I also don't think it'd be very much fun for the person to switch back and forth all the time!

ohh. okay. I dont think it is cheating. it is the same thing as inviting a friend who is close by whom you can discuss your strategy verbally and sync with each others moves better. while this way you have an advantage at moving cause you know your own moves the disadvantage would be having only your point of view in the game. with two people, you have a higher chance to see a mistake the enemy has made compared to one, if you play by yourself

Full disclosure, my regular 2v2 partner, The RawkHawk, is my brother.

Just wondering if having two accounts is allowed, that's all.

well in game center's terms and condition it states that you may establish an account ("Account"). they quoted account maybe to emphasize its singularity. anyway thats the only thing i found related about creating multiple accounts but i may have missed something.

I've played against the names mentioned in the first post and he claimed that he plays on in his iPhone and his wife on an iPad.

Wheher he's cheating or not; it doesn't matter much. I like the interaction with my teamplayer a lot, and you can discuss the game offline, online or with yourself Smile

Not sure whether this thread is about whether its ok for a single person to be both players on a nominally "2 person" team. I dont see why that would be cheating. In fact, I have thought about doing it; just seemed like too much trouble, but I didnt see any moral problem with it.
