thoughts&questions about auto-determined win - runzetang - 07-29-2014 12:20 AM

We all know that to save time the system judges you win if you occupy all enemy pop-up-tiles and kill all his pieces, but I had a match today that made me think this could be improved. I think that one should win if he occupied all enemy pop-up and his opponient do not have any piece on board that should deal damage. Which will at least save one turn of time.
This is the match:http://osn.codepenguin.com/replays/view/ahRzfm91dHdpdHRlcnNnYW1lLWhyZHIVCxIIR2FtZVJvb20YgICApruPpgoM#205

Also after that I thought of a situation that is pretty interesting. Like if two guys by chance occupied each others pop-up with runner and each are their only piece left, the two base have more than 1 hitpoint, then this will go-on for ever unless one of them give up. Is there a tie in outwitters?

Nope, there will NEVER be a tie in Outwitters. Matches that will result in some sort of stalemate can only be determined by Adam and Alex.

There was this one match, it lasted about hundreds of turns and it would never stop. They had to ask to delete the match.

There is no legitimate situation where you'll have a runner on spawn for each side. I think Cor13:4 and HisDaddy had a turtle match that went 500+ turns that Alex and Adam allowed them to have a draw.

But I do think we should have an OFFER DRAW button.

If I were losing, I would spam that button every turn hoping my opponent would miss-click "Accept" or something Wink

Jk.

But not really. I'd do it.

But probably not. Maybe.

Only when it gets over 100 or whatever.

Maybe after offering a draw and having your offer rejected, you'd have to wait 10 turns or so before offering again?

Or a BLOCK DRAW option, which you are able to activate once you've declined a draw.

How about a SUGGEST RESIGNATION button that gives your opponent a popup that says "Your prospects for this match seem dim. Care to resign?"

There are some opponents I would send this to as soon as the game started. Rofl!
