Well yeah, it's the same person, so there is nothing wrong with it!

From the rules:
PF - Points For (Base damage done to opponents)
PA - Points Against (Base damage taken from opponents)
+/- - Point Differential (PF minus PA)

Going to make a note here, because I didn't think about this until now and just want to point it out for anyone else who didn't think about. Unlike in League play where a loss is a loss, even if you are about to lose but have a chance to hit your opponents base at all, the way this is set up, it will be really important to remember to do that to help your point differential, even if you're going to lose the game anyway. Most of you probably noticed this already, but it was a eureka moment for me just now.

Also - with everything posted now, are we free to start sending invites?

I really hope like others pointed out that they change this.

I think it would be helpful to the tourney directors if we all put how much damage each base took.

Updated. I figure you only need to put down your own base damage if you won, since the winner automatically gets 5 damage on their opponent.

Yes, but then Garbonzo gets 1 extra point for dealing 1 damage for your base. This way, the tourney mods won't have to check every single replay.

Regarding base HP as tiebreakers:

Yes, this is clearly not any real indication as to how close a match was. In the previous tournaments we have used the number of turns but that was also very arbitrary in that I just kind of randomly assigned points based on how many turns it took. We decided to go with base HP this time because it's just a much cleaner metric than having to convert turns to points and such.

I will concede to thrutchy and TheGreatErenan that we should look at actually established metrics before these. As such we will swap the priority of tiebreakers 2 and 3 so that head-to-head will be more important than the +/- score.

To mag!cguy, we are planning on absolutely no playoffs for the Group Play round. This tournament is going to take over 6 months as is, playoffs will delay the tournament too much.

In the end, no matter which metric we use, it will cause games to play out differently. In the case of turns you may start turtling hard when you know you have lost to delay the inevitable as much as possible. I don't see why this is any better than trying to sneak one last runner in there for a hit on the enemy base.

In some cases base damage is actually a better indication than turns. A fast game on SFI could easily turn into a base race and base health would be a much better indication the game was close than the idea we used before that faster game means more of a blowout.

Base HP will be the metric we use for this tournament so keep that in mind. Take that extra turn to win to protect your base from that sneaky runner if you have to. But in the end this is a tertiary tiebreaker just in the Group Play Round. Just win all your games and you have nothing to worry about.
