Happy fourth, everyone! Even if you're not from the States, enjoy your day!

I hope everyone has time to relax with good food, good drinks, and good people!

From July 3 through July 7, I was in San Francisco, Sacramento, Davis, and South Lake Tahoe. I ate crab cakes, visited UC Berkeley, UC Davis, the California Capitol building, and went kayaking in Lake Tahoe. I then drove 14 hours in stop and go traffic from South Lake Tahoe to San Diego. It was awesome.

Furthermore, my 20 month old son threw up twice on the road home, we stopped for lunch at Pea Soup Andersen's, where I had the world's most traditional food combination, split pea soup and a chocolate milkshake, and we drove through the pass just south of Grapevine, CA, where the hills were literally on fire (this was the reason for the slow traffic) with firefighters all around, busy putting it out (thankfully, as far as I know, none of these firefighters lost their lives).
