Hi! Hello! And hi again!

Just curious. What kinds of music do you guys and gals listen to?

I listen to a lot of music from a variety of genres, but I guess I emphasize heavy metal and more artistically-minded rock more than other genres. Just a few examples:

Not Metal:

Radiohead
Meat Puppets
King Crimson
Synergy

Metal:

Absu
Thyrfing
Voivod
Skeletonwitch


I'm asking because lately I'm in a "listen to as much music from as many different genres as possible" mood, and I wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions.

And also just because I'm curious and felt like making a thread. Tongue

i like reggae. it gives a chill feel when youre listening to it.
i particularly like tribal seeds. i recommend you read the lyrics when you listen to them
cause you wont understand a thing theyre saying if youre not used to it.

I'm listening to a lot of Skrillex (anything remixed by him, his original stuff ain't that good) and old DMX - both of those will get your adrenaline going! Nirvana's cover of the Meat Puppets Lake of Fire is amazing, I'm a huge Nirvana fan and that's one of their best! Another interesting band I just found is Black Violin - 2 classically trained violin players making hip hop music.

I enjoy music from a lot of different genres. I prefer music without English lyrics unless it's satire or old stuff (something like Sinatra instead of autotune stuff from these days). I don't like being broad and saying I like certain genres because there are also a lot of songs in each genre that I really dislike. Even artists tend not to have more than a few songs that I like. The genres with a higher chance of me liking them though are probably

- dubstep
- romantic era piano
- drum and bass
- edm
- trance
- jazz
- swing
- nationalist orchestral music - doesnt matter which country, just not in English

Recently I've mostly been listening to Rachmaninov and Noisia. Also sometimes I just play Tim Marley's "The Night of Rain" on repeat.
