I like the touch move idea as a way of increasing time allowed for more involved turns (making a fullscale offensive versus spawning one unit for example).

On a side note I thought I might mention that Super-Titans wouldn't necessarily be better than Masters at blitz mode just as how the best standard chess players aren't always the best blitz players. Sure, there is overlap, but it's not 1:1.

Watching real time would make it a lots easier to count wits.

No worries, we can still play!

Game Center notifications which seems to be used in Outwitters is not really made to support realtime functionality. Would probably be possible to make it so you don't have to exit the current game to see the opponents move though. But as development has stopped, I assume we have to do with what we got!

I'm drastically cutting down the number of games I have going as I have started to dislike being forced to play every day. So the majority of my games will probably be blitz games in the future.

The experience I've had so far is that it actually works pretty well currently if you play two games at a time and a maximum of 1 min per move (if I go down to 10s per move game quality goes down a lot!). With notification delays and players missing a few seconds here and there count on 30 moves every hour. But it is important no one starts taking 2-3 mins every move as you will be looking at several hours to finish.

I guess one way to make blitz available is just to have one thread for people who are looking for opponents. If there is a need to make it competitive we could use a standard elo system!

Maybe have a thread where people can look for opponents and they can cross out their post once their invitation for a blitz expires

Ex.

whos up for a blitz game?

I will if you are still up for one! Even though I'm terrified of you.
