For a while I thought I almost had it... Any advice??

After your retaliation on turn 21, you move your brainwashed soldier too far. If you put it on the edge of the triple barrier in the middle you would have prevented a newly spawned runner from killing your scrambler.

I have to say I like your aggressive style in the first few turns; makes me think about changing my opening.

i thought you did fine but you could have been more careful in you attack on turn 25. you would have most likely won if you did

^this

specifically you needed to put your runner somewhere where it would give you better vision. If you had put it on the opposite side of your sniper from where you put it, you would have seen the blue scrambler and known to move your soldier out of the way.

What if on turn 21 his soldier had been a hex lower? Would that have won the game?

she would have an advantage having a scrambler but even without it she still had a chance to win a few turns after.
even without the runner vision you can still expect the worst. she had a 3 hex vision from the soldier and the area was a tunnel so only one unit from the fog could reach her unit. (and the only single unit that the opponent could have behind the fog that could threaten a 4hp soldier is a scrambler, which in this case there really was a scrambler) if she moved her soldier back on turn 25, it would be out of range from anything that could possibly be on the fog except for a runner which could only block the soldier. she also had a sniper behind so the sniper can take out the the runner blocking the area and the soldier can now go for the attack on the 1hp base

I think bc I didn't have vision on turn 25 so I got the soldier scrambled... Should have thought more carefully when playing with some higher level, that sometimes they'd let u attack in anticipation of some game turning strategy Tongue

The more I play this map, the more I'm convinced that unit count is the deciding factor. When you spawned that early scrambler you weren't able to reinforce the bottom left enough to compensate for my attack.

I hate this map but not as much as my opposition

I take it you're jiimii? On this map, I think you need to get your heavy up to the top to help defend. Don't worry too much about what's going down near the lower spawn points as that's usually just a distraction to where everything's happening up top.
