I've actually tried this rush many times by myself in pass n play, but the defending team always won if they attacked quickly enough. Rematch!!!

The sides of the map count as empty spaces, similar to the holes on Glitch or Sweetie Plains, for example. The other thing about Snipers that isn't immediately obvious is that that they can shoot at anything that isn't completely behind a barricade, hence the Sharkfood Island Mobi Sniper.
