I think that's assuming the Germans are playing for the win, but really the Germans only need a tie to secure 1st in group. US need a tie to move on . . . I see a 90-minute passing drill coming. 0-0

Yeah, both teams will prioritize defending since they're both aiming for a tie or better.

Up until someone scores. Then the trailing team will prioritize trying to score.

I actually had Spain pegged as a favorite to win it all . . . now very much doubting, though Netherlands is a great team that may have wanted revenge for 2010.
I had missed their other games, so I just now checked the results from Group B. Netherlands is kicking ass in this tournament.
