Related to the deadline to start all games - one recommendation is that the tournament organizer PM's all players who have many outstanding matches. I used this approach to keep things moving in my 2v2 tournament.

I saw him setting up exactly how he did on Alvendor in World Cup and took the gamble that he had tunnel vision on the idea.
