Crashing the list RE: Weekly Top 200 - 9/13/2013 - Mag!cGuy - 09-14-2013 04:22 PM The players that impress me the most with their play are ler4t and blckace, setting up incredibly original and powerful plan that no one thinks about, and they are very old in the game and don't play so often. I would even say that not playing a lot can help to be more concentrated on the few games you play RE: Weekly Top 200 - 9/13/2013 - ImperialSun - 09-15-2013 02:02 PM Terence is hands down the player I respect the most. Not to mention, he is extremely modest. RE: Weekly Top 200 - 9/13/2013 - terenceshiu2005 - 09-16-2013 12:50 AM Thanks ImperialSun! When you take the time to create clone games in pass and play mode to count the witts, when you create shemas on printed maps you don't have the time to play more than 2 games by evening. I'm spending sometimes more than 3 hours before a move lol RE: Weekly Top 200 - 9/13/2013 - TheGreatAnt - 09-16-2013 06:05 PM (09-16-2013 08:47 AM)L3R4T Wrote:(09-14-2013 04:22 PM)Mag!cGuy Wrote: The players that impress me the most with their play are ler4t and blckace, setting up incredibly original and powerful plan that no one thinks about, and they are very old in the game and don't play so often. I would even say that not playing a lot can help to be more concentrated on the few games you play I'm willing to bet none of the other top 10 players spend that much time, TheGreatAnt. You can definitely be in the top 10 and not be as dedicated as L3R4T. Keep trying if that's your goal! RE: Weekly Top 200 - 9/13/2013 - L3R4T - 09-16-2013 11:55 PM Yes you don't need to spend so much time each turn, only on critical moves. And often I spend 1 hour day one, another one day 2 and I finish to find my solution day 3, the major part of the moves are 'automatic' but what make you win or loose are the critical positions and to define you global strategy on the game. RE: Weekly Top 200 - 9/13/2013 - Mag!cGuy - 09-16-2013 11:57 PM I have never spent more than 15 minutes to think my turns, don't think every ST spends so much time on the game RE: Weekly Top 200 - 9/13/2013 - [PETA] Cor13:4 - 09-17-2013 01:59 AM I'm somewhere in between. Most turns, I spend less than 5 minutes. Some turns, I'll spend 15 minutes, but somewhat often, I'll memorize a map and then go about my day and percolate ideas on how to respond. I've never made a pass and play to count wits, but do count wits when I can (which is probably 90% of the games at least). |
